All Program and Project Management seminar modules are portable and can be customised to suit individual organisation's requirements.

Synopsis

Ever changing political landscape and shortened business life cycle had demanded organisations to respond to these changes effectively. Slow internal response within the organisation has forced some companies to cease operations while those still in operation is having trouble to stay afloat. It has been observed that a company which suffers huge deficit has a closed and rigid internal system; while those that make it through, possesses an open and highly flexible internal system. This was made possible through a balanced use of management by project approach to support the overall long-term organisation’s strategic goals.

Over and above the consultancy services Faisal Consulting Services also provides portable, customised modular seminar packages to suit individuals' and or organisations' needs and expectations. These modules can be customised for operational level to Senior Executives and Management levels. To date, 4 packages has been developed and running.

Module 1: Provides the participants with an overview to organisational change, program and project management and how organisations are blending them together.

Module 2: Provides the participants with a comprehensive views on project management inclusive of the processes and methodologies.

Module 3: Provides the participants with a more in depth comprehension on change initiatives and how using the program and project management methodologies assist organisation is mobilising the change.

Module 4: Provides the participants with a comprehensive view on Project Evaluation, Appraisal and Review [PEAR] within the Project Management environment.

MODULE 1: Project Management for General Managers

Conducted in an interactive and participative style, this 1-day seminar covers an overview of how project management applications have evolved from operational scientific engineering to strategic business and change management. It describes the major differences between projects and operations and how organisations are blending these two together.


Objectives: Upon completion of this workshop, participants are able to:
  • Understand how organisation functions and projects are organised - Appreciate the working relationships that must exist between the project managers, members and the performing organisation that relates to the project.
  • Able to structure work such that no internal communication breakdown will occur - Appreciate how work can best be planned, scheduled and controlled in a project environment.
  • Assist individuals and teams to formulate an agreeable plan meeting the needs and expectations.
  • Guide individuals in project management development.

Who should Attend
The course is intended for aspiring managers, team leaders who are involved in project and would like to reinforce their knowledge and made aware of existing framework, methodologies, techniques and tools in managing their projects.

Content: Overview of project management.
Most often project management are being advocated for various professionals may it be in Engineering, Construction or Information Technology. This session demystify the truth about project management and illustrates how it can be used by everyone in any industry. Exercise - Participants will be assessing their projects using a specially designed tool to gauge the likelihood of project success or otherwise.

MODULE 2: Project Management for General Managers

Facilitated in an interactive and participative style, this 3-day seminar covers the applications of project management processes and tools in managing change programs and projects.

Contents: Process & Methodology
This three-day session will introduce participants to the project management terminologies, framework, methodologies, techniques and tools in a structured manner. It covers a wide spectrum of project management processes starting with Project Initiation, Definition, Planning, Execution and finally Project Closure. Exercise - Participants will be developing the project quality plan using a specially designed case study.


Prerequisites:
Have attended Module 1 or have worked in project environment.

MODULE 3: Managing Change Programs and Projects.

Done in an interactive and participative style, this 2-day workshop covers the concepts and applications of change, program and project management processes and their associated tools in managing the overall initiatives.


Objectives: Upon completion of this workshop, participants are able to:
  • Understand change and how organisations affected by it.
  • Understand how change functions and projects are organised - Appreciate the working relationships that must exist between the various stakeholders.
  • Able to structure work such that no internal communication breakdown will occur. Appreciate how work can best be planned, scheduled and controlled in a project environment.
  • Guide individuals in change management development.

The course is intended for aspiring managers, team leaders who are involved in change programs and projects and would like to reinforce their foundation in managing change projects using framework, methodologies, techniques and tools in a structured manner.


Content: Managing Change Program
This two-day session will introduce participants to the concept of change program and project management terminologies, framework, methodologies, techniques and tools in a structured manner. It covers a wide spectrum of change and project management processes starting with Initiation, Definition, Planning, Execution and finally Performance Review. Exercise - Participants will be working in groups on a case study specifically developed for this module.

Have worked in change project environment.

MODULE 4: Project Evaluation, Appraisal & Review [PEAR]

Many organisations are moving towards a balanced use of process and project management to support the overall long-term organisation’s strategic goals. The issues faced by many, how do we select the best projects to support and complement the business operations?

Done in an interactive and participative style, this 2-day workshop covers the concepts and applications of project evaluation and appraisal and its related processes in managing the overall initiatives.

Objectives: Upon completion of this workshop, participants are able to:
  • Understand the domains for project evaluation, selection and appraisal
  • Appreciate how project can best be evaluated and appraised in meeting the business objectives.
  • Appreciate the working relationships that must exist between the various stakeholders.
  • Able to structure work such that no internal communication breakdown will occur.
  • Guide individuals in project management development.

Who should Attend

The course is intended for aspiring managers, team leaders who are involved in programs and projects and would like to reinforce their foundation in project evaluation and appraisal using project management framework, methodologies, techniques and tools in a structured manner.

Content
This two-day session will introduce participants to the concept of PEAR within project management terminologies, framework, methodologies, techniques and tools in a structured manner. It covers a wide spectrum of PEAR starting with business case development, proposals and project quality plan inclusive of performance reviews and checkpoints.

Exercise: Participants will be working on a case study specifically developed for the module
